Wrestlers Finish Successful Season

The Spartans Wrestling team sent 7 boys to the state tournament this season. Three wrestlers stood out at State and advanced through the tournament. Sophomores Kalif Raymond (119) and Caleb Bumpers (112) were both incredibly successful at state. Kalif came away with 2 wins and Caleb had 3 wins (just one shy of placing). Junior Jared Hemmings (171) came away with the school’s only medal this year placing 4th at state. This is Jared’s second time to qualify for state and his first state medal.

Spartan Wrestlers Wrapping up a Great Season

Congratulations to the Spartans Wrestling Team. They placed fourth at the 6AA Area Tournament at Lovett on Saturday, February 6.

Seven Spartan wrestlers will move on to the West Sectional Tournament next weekend at Sonoraville HS. Caleb Bumpers (112), Will Parker (130), Will Hemby (140), and Ethan Tolbert (145) placed fourth. Placing third were Zach Feuerbach (152) and Matthew Wade (285). Area 6AA champions were Kalif Raymond (119) and Jared Hemmings (171). Congrats to Head Coach Jeff Harsh and all Spartan wrestlers who are already having a fantastic season.
